Report Card Time

Bella got her First Quarter Report Card from First Grade today. She got an "A+" in Spelling, "A" in Reading (which is no surprise), "A-" in Math, and "S" in Conduct, "S" in Grammar, "S" in Handwriting, "S-" for Music, "S+" for Physical Ed, "S+" for Oral Reading, and "S" in Study Habits.

For her Accelerated Reader Program, at the end of the 1st Quarter she has read 20 books, is reading at an average book level of 1.6, and is answering 91.5% of the test questions correctly. She has earned a total of 9.2 points which has gotten her a free bookmark, thus far.

We're so proud of you!

Report Card Time

Bella got her third report card today. For a surprise, she didn't have a "W" next to "Avoids unnecessary talking"...it's up to an S-. She had a bit of difficulty with identifying coins, but they just began to work on them two weeks before report cards, so she got a "W" there. As much as she likes shopping, I know she'll catch on to the coins very quickly..

We also got an updated STAR Early Literacy report. In October she scored a 637 which was in the upper 1/3 of the Emergent Reader level. In December she scored a 771 and was in the Transitional Reader level, but just barely because it only goes to 774. The March 10th test scored her at 809 which is in the Probable Reader level. She continues to do well at her reading and we are so proud of her. She can read most Level 1 Easy Reader and Level 2 books all by herself

She was also tested this month on knowing her Sight Words and she knew them all with no problems.

Report Card Time

Bella got her second report card today. You'll never guess this, she's still having trouble with avoiding unnecessary talking! LOL Otherwise, she's doing great in everything - straight S's. We also got her STAR Early Literacy report. In October she scored a 637 which was in the upper 1/3 of the Emergent Reader level. This test, taken December 16, she scored a 771. This is an increase of 134 and she is now in the Transitional Reader level, but just barely because it only goes to 774. She is doing so well at her reading and we are so proud of her. She can read most Level 1 Easy Reader books all by herself and can read Level 2 books with just a little help. She's growing so fast and learning so quickly! No more spelling things in front of her, we're going to have to use ig-pay atin-lay instead.
