We got to see what the suits the firefighters wear look like. They are silver to reflect the heat away from them and their helmet shields are made with gold to keep them from melting. They also wear steal-toed boots so if something falls on their toes, it doesn't smash them.
Next we got to see the huge Air Guard Fire Trucks. They shoot lots of water a very long distance. The firefighters use the trucks to spray the water so they don't have to get too close to the large fires.
After watching it shoot the water, we got to take turns getting into the cab and sounding the VERY LOUD horn.

And now we're off to the classroom!
We learned all about the pilot's lightweight helmets, parachutes, and the emergency vests the soldiers wear. We also got to look through a pair of Night Vision Goggles. This made our teachers, a parents, a bit nervous because they cost $10,000 a pair! YIKES!
On our way out to the C-130 planes, we saw two helicopters flying in. They are very big!
We all climbed on board of the plane. This plane was taken care of by Aiden, one of my classmate's, dad. Once on board, he told us all about the plane and what it was used for. Did you know that a C-130 plane can hold more than 100 soldiers. They are also used to haul large cargo.
After looking around in the back, we got to take turns looking around in the cockpit of the plane.

After seeing the plane, it was time to get back on the bus and go home. This is a fun picture of me and Kristen.
